La Vallée des Couleurs Nature Park

Nature lovers will certainly appreciate this place; it offers a truly unique experience with the abundant indigenous wildlife and flora found in the park. Visitors are treated to a variety of natural landscapes, including plateaus, mountains, valleys, craters, and crater lakes. First, there is our exhibition room which clearly shows what awaits adventurers in the park, immediately followed by our fern garden, without which any visit to the park would be incomplete, unless one wishes to miss the beauty of tree ferns, wild orchids, or other native flowers like the Trochetia (Ear Loop) and the Banané Bouquet (Achena Mauriciana), which only blooms at the end of each year.

The park is also home to tortoises, monkeys, deer, fish, and birds like the Pink Pigeon, the Paille-en-Queue, and the Green Castle, among others. Various endemic trees such as Ebony, Rattan Wood, Takamaka, and a few other rare plants also contribute to the park’s beauty. Vacoas Waterfall, Rattan Wood Waterfall, Angel Hair Waterfall, and Chamouzé Waterfall are the four wonderful waterfalls where visitors can listen to the rustling water, relax in natural intimacy, and feel inner peace. The park also offers a captivating and breathtaking panoramic view of the South Coast.

The main attraction is the fascinating land of 23 colors, whose origin dates back millions of years to the eruption of the Bassin Blanc volcano – its ashes, remnants of that event, are unique in the world.
